The other day, I was listening with half an ear to two moderators on Radio 1, which according to the BBC is the biggest radio station in the UK. The bloke was telling about a remake of a 1997 film by Austrian director Michael Haneke, called Funny Games.
Now Haneke has set the film in America and in English. It is identical to the original released here with English sub-titles. The film is a masterpiece. Two psychotic young men take a mother, father, and son hostage in their vacation cabin and force them to play sadistic "games" with one another for their own amusement.
Then, to my amazement, the female moderator then says ‘Funny Games. I wonder what that is in Austrian? If any one knows, please text me at blah blah blah.’
Funny Games is a seriously scary film, but not as scary as the quality of the staff of Radio 1!

I happily admit I am addicted to the UK talent show, X-Factor. I had to do some digging about to find the clip below, as it has been pulled from YouTube because of some copyright infringements.
Rhydian, a 24 year old Welsh lad, last Saturday went on stage for the second time in his life. Amazingly, after his first performance, Andrew Lloyd Webber rewrote the lyrics of Phantom of The Opera (which is a duet) especially for this kid.
This is awesome stuff!

Wow - now I am not a fan of the X factor , but this kid is seriously good .....Almost as good as Michael Crawford ...
How come the silly Poms couldn't find this man when they were looking for their Eurovision entry
